The Neuroknife Team
At Neuroknife Group, surgical experience is paired with training in fully accredited U.S. residency programs (ACGME), advanced subspecialty expertise at leading international oncology and pediatric institutions, and a truly multidisciplinary philosophy of care. We provide comprehensive neurosurgical services for both adults and children, with distinct pillars of excellence in pediatric neurosurgery and neurosurgical oncology—guided by uncompromising standards of safety, precision, and clinical quality.
U.S. Academic Excellence, Greek Clinical Expertise
Neuroknife Group is built on a hybrid model that integrates advanced training at centers such as Memorial Sloan Kettering, Harvard Medical School / Boston Children’s Hospital, Case Western Reserve University, and the Medical University of South Carolina with the high-volume, highly capable clinical environment of Greece’s leading private hospitals.
Dr. Ioannis Karampelas and Dr. Georgios Alexopoulos bring to Greece contemporary protocols, technical expertise, and modern operative strategies shaped by U.S. training—across the full scope of state-of-the-art neurosurgery (cranial, spine, and peripheral nerve), with focused excellence in neurosurgical oncology and pediatric neurosurgery.
Dr. Panagiotis Kokkalis and Dr. Panagiotis Varvatsoulis, with long-standing experience in Greece managing complex cranial, spinal, and peripheral nerve cases, contribute deep insight into the Greek clinical landscape—paired with attentive, patient-centered care and a pragmatic approach to real-world decision-making.
In parallel, Neuroknife is strengthened by dedicated craniofacial / maxillofacial and reconstructive–microsurgical support, enabling integrated access planning and reconstruction for carefully selected, highly demanding cases.
The clinical activity of Neuroknife Group is conducted in collaboration with Athens’ premier private hospitals (HYGEIA, MITERA, Iatriko Hospital Athens, Pediatric Center of Athens), ensuring state-of-the-art operating theaters, specialized pediatric units, and comprehensive postoperative care. In parallel, selected clinical cases are also managed through high-level public-sector institutions, including Panarkadiko General Hospital of Tripoli, supporting continuity of care and broader patient access.
In this way, Neuroknife’s core team of four neurosurgeons is structured to meet U.S. university-hospital standards, while also maintaining organized access to a specialized craniofacial and reconstructive–microsurgical team—particularly when this is pivotal to achieving the best possible functional and aesthetic outcome for the patient.
